Singapore Green Building Council Webinar: Creating Greener, Cleaner, & Healthier Places & Spaces (Session 3)

In collaboration with Singapore Green Building Council Webinar, Safeguarding Public Health through the Workplace is a 3-part Webinar series supported by both SoftBank Robotics Singapore and Dyson. This series venture and discuss the intricacies of what is now the new normal for the foreseeable future.

The last session of the 3-part Webinar series was conducted on 28th Aug 2020. This session focuses on what workplaces can do to incorporate occupant health and wellbeing as an essential factor in workplace design and configuration.

Ar Tan Szue Hann (Assistant Secretary, SGBC Board, Singapore Green Building Council) was the moderator for the session, together with panelists Mr Ian Wilson (Advisor and Mentor/ Emeritus SVP of Non-Gaming Operations at Marina Bay Sands, SoftBank Robotics Singapore’s Hospitality Expert) and Mr Paul Gregory (Global Specification and Training Director for Dyson Professional.

Ar Tan Szue Hann started the discussion by introducing the seven environmental design guidelines and how sustainable buildings can contribute to the fight against covid-19 or any future pandemic. Mr Ian Wilson continued the conversation focusing on the hospitality industry, sharing insights on covid-19’s impact on hotels, upcoming trends and most importantly, how robotics can help increase overall cleaning effectiveness. The second panelist, Mr Paul Gregory then explored the topic of workplace wellness and stressed on the importance of cleaning and indoor air quality.

The session concluded with an engaging Q&A session, with attendees raising issues on IoT and data analysis, indoor air quality assessments for tenants and robots working relationships with humans.
